Early Access Walkthrough

This Early Access walkthrough maps the planned five-hour route for Vapor World: Over The Mind: Prologue, Episode 1 Consequence of The Choice, and the opening of Episode 2 The Reproachful Office. It prioritizes progression, combat readiness, and secret habits without dumping every cutscene line.

Spoiler policy

Light structure spoilers ahead. Boss names and episode titles are discussed because players search them. Ending details for the full release are out of scope until they ship.

Before you begin

Finish Getting Started, bind keys via controls, and skim how to parry plus stealth. Keep the EA checklist open to tick rooms, bosses, and Projection unlocks.

Prologue goals

Learn movement weight, dodge, sprint, and the first deflection lessons. Talk to every lost soul that offers a memory fragment—narrative cinematics are part of the progression language. Explore painted corners for ladders and breakable obstacles even when the critical path is obvious. If a Trauma pack feels stacked, stealth one target before committing to a duel.

Do not rush past the first Projection tutorial moments. Log them in the Projections guide so later loadouts make sense.

Episode 1 — Consequence of The Choice

Expect denser rooms, harder Traumas, and at least one Seed-scale exam of your parry discipline. Treat each Seed attempt as data collection: which strings are feints, which demand rolls, which reward Projection extends. Use boss guide notes after two failed attempts rather than repeating the same panic plan.

Branching exploration matters here. When a door looks gated, note the ability you lack and continue; return after unlocks. Movable objects and wall hangs often hide optional cores that make Episode 2 kinder.

Episode 2 opening — The Reproachful Office

Early Access is planned to stop near the beginning of this episode. Play carefully: new enemy patterns may appear, and you want clean saves before optional detours. Re-evaluate your loadout with best builds once Episode 1 tools are complete. If difficulty spikes, re-check patch notes for combat retunes shipped after your last session.

Resource and death management

Spend healing and Projection resources on Seed phases, not on every trash pull. After deaths, skip intros when the build allows so practice stays efficient. Update your checklist whenever you unlock traversal verbs—those verbs usually open earlier rooms.

After you clear the EA slice

Read the roadmap for what full release still adds, leave feedback through official links, and skim the preview review if you want a critical frame for the experience. Story interpreters can continue with the story overview and Paslow pages.

Troubleshooting stuck points

Cannot progress a door: verify missing Projection or story flag; revisit with the checklist. Cannot beat a Seed: return to parry drills and strip greed from the first thirty seconds. Performance issues: see system requirements. Wrong platform expectations: see platforms and Game Pass.

This walkthrough is a spine, not a spoiler novel. Use it to keep momentum through the dream while your mechanical skill catches up to the painted nightmare.

Optional content policy

If an optional path costs more than fifteen minutes and three deaths with no new verb, park it and continue the critical episode route. Return after the next Projection unlock. The checklist exists so optional goals do not vanish forever.

Save hygiene

Create a mental or cloud save bookmark before Seed doors and before Episode 2 entry. Console and PC cloud rules differ—see platforms. Never experiment with movable puzzles immediately before a boss leash if you can avoid it.

Multi-session play

Early Access stories breathe better across two or three nights. End sessions after a clear win, not after a tilt wipe, so the next boot starts with confidence and a re-read of patch notes if an update landed.
